UsWeekly reported that Tallulah Willis, daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore, is legally changing her name to Lula because she hates the name her parents gave her. Not that Lula is much better, but finally a celebrity's kid who's old enough to be pissed off about their name!

biakbiak- 04-23-2007
Yeah, Bruce mentioned that on Letterman a week or two ago when he was on.

I like the name Tallulah. It reminds me of Tallulah Bankhead and that's definitely a good thing.

Indeed it is, dahling, indeed it is.

I bet Lula is her nickname.

I'm almost certain she was named for Tallulah Bankhead.

And how lame is it to legally change your name to your nickname?

you know in 10 years or so she'll realize how cool her name was, and change it back.

I could see changing your name if it was something like Apple or Cistern and you wanted something completely different, but what's so hard about asking people to use your nickname? Most people don't call me by my full name, and I didn't have to bother with changing it legally.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I think Tallulah is a horrible name, and I can completely understand why she would want to change it. Lula isn't much of a stretch, but at least it's a little easier to pronounce.

It reminds me of Holly Golightly's real name, though: Lula Mae Barnes. Heh.

Queen Esther- 04-24-2007
I'm not crazy about "Tallulah", but it's not like "Lula" is any better. It sounds... white trashy? Redneck-y? Besides, she should consider herself lucky. She could have been named "Rumer" or "Scout".

Scarlettfish- 04-24-2007
Seriously, out of that bunch I think she's the luckiest!

Mel B names baby after Eddie Murphy

Actonbell- 04-24-2007
I can't help but crack up over the idea of a baby being named Murphy Brown, even if it is only the middle name.

queenofdenile- 04-24-2007
I like both Rumer *and* Scout as names, so maybe I'm odd.

Nah, I like them too! And I think legally changing your name at 13 is stupid - just have people call you by your nickname and then decide when you are older and more mature if you still hate your birth name.

Haha. I just saw the post on ONTD, and cracking up was the first thing I did too.

I don't mind the name Scout, it's cute. But I think it would work more as a nickname, than an actual name. Unless you were naming a pet.
