Is McLanahan actually the middle name, or does the child have two surnames? 'Cause I know if the latter was true, Bowen would be in there somewhere, but, you know, McLanahan, it's just a little bit, umm, unwieldy.
sarabean- 04-11-2007
Oh, I love Oliver. Points for that.
I couldn't tell if it was Mclanahan with a lowercase L or McIanahan with an uppercase I, but on second glance, I think it's an L.

Westlife's Nicky Byrne and wife Georgina welcome twins.
And they're calling them Rocco and Jay. Okay then. I suppose being part of a successful boy band and having the Taoiseach as your dad means that ordinary names just don't come into it.
The Glen- 04-20-2007
I never thought I'd see the day when an Irish political leader would have grandsons named Rocco and Jay. *blesses self* However, I always expect the worst from the abomination that is Westlife. *shudder*

Even Bertie looked a bit sheepish at first when he was asked what the kids names were. OMG, I hope this doesn't cost him the election!![/sarcasm]

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has
given birth to a baby girl. I read in the paper this morning her name is Elspeth.
Renny Sue- 04-22-2007
It probably won't be announced until the christening, same as her brother.
Roma79- 04-22-2007
I like that name. If they ever get tired of pronouncing it, they could just call her Ellie.

That was the name of my favorite kitty who passed away last year. Awwww, it makes me miss her. Oh by the way, we also called Jelley Ellie Bellie.

My number one dog is Ellie. You'd be amazed at the rhyming opportunities.

Yeah, correcting my post from earlier - the name of Princess Mary's baby girl hasn't been announced yet. The report I read was totally wrong.
I heard people tipping the name Henrietta or Margeruite (sp?), but I think they're going to surprise us and choose something that no one suspected, which I think is what they did with Christian, their son.
eco- 04-22-2007
I think every King of Denmark since Christian IX has had "Christian" as one of his names, so it was not really a huge shocker. Crown Prince Frederik's names are Frederik Andre Henrik Christian, and his son's are Christian Valdermar Henri Johan. I really hope that baby Christian will not become King Valdemar, but you never know.
eventide82- 04-22-2007
Oh, yeah, I just meant that here in Australia, Christian was kind of a a surprise, because the media was predicting a couple of different names, IIRC.
Wilhelmina- 04-23-2007
Well, in Denmark it's either Frederik or Christian for a prince, what threw me off was "Valdemar" as a second name. For the newborn, I guess they will go with Margrete as first name but the others...well, the name of Mary's mom will be in there somewhere, but that still leaves two spots open. I wanna know now! I always get a bit of too excited about all things royal.
Renny Sue- 04-23-2007
eventide I didn't see a lot of people shocked at Christian. It was a dead cert to be his name and it was more the second names they were predicting.
Ingrid would be nice, or Elspeth. (is it true she was born on the same day as Queen Liz?)
