I vote the Vampire Weekend guy. Archie's sins are forgivable--after all, his dad made him do it. And no one's ever tried to convince me his covers were groundbreaking or original, as opposed to that shoddy Graceland ripoff band.

And I bet he could actually name some of his inspirations instead of just waving vaguely towards Africa and saying, "You know stuff from there."

See, this is why I try to ignore interviews with musicians and actors. They always think they're God's gift to their craft. I'm still going to stick with keeping Batmanglij because I really like Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.

Yeah - I like VW a lot. I just saw them this week. I would like to emphasize the importance of not confusing the HYPE with the band. They can surely tell you their influences (and it's not just Paul Simon or just South African artists.) I'm sure Archie could tell you his influences after asking his dad.

On topic: I was deeply saddened when I noticed this resemblance.
