I think Eric is vile. Seriously, I just do not get the love at all. He's probably only slightly behind Dick when it comes to trash talking. Some of the things he's said about Zach, Jen, Daniele. Even now, >>as he's fighting to stay in the house and Daniele took pity on him after Amber went OFF on him, and let him campaign in her HoH room, he's talking to Dustin about how he wants to stay and win HoH so Daniele has to come up there and suck his cock. Just...ewww. And way to be nice after you spent an hour and a half whining to her about how unfair it was that people were attacking you personally and how you didn't deserve this treatment.<<

Well, I'm glad that Eric stayed but I hate that he said those nasty things about Danielle. I really can't defend that.

I tuned to 30 Rock during a commercial break so I missed the actual votes, but would I be correct saying GirlHilter, Jameka, Dustin and Jessica voted to evict Kail and Jen, Dick, and Zach voted to evict Eric?

I'm glad Jessica won HoH because I'm hoping we get to see more of her personality. She seems cute and was really excited to win (and I'm glad she didn't fall out of her top) and there's no way I could've taken a week of Dick as HoH. It's going to be bad enough as it is, with him screaming at people for changing their votes. Which is why I signed up for a free trial of the live feeds - this should be some good drama.

That Dick/Jameka fight looked like it's going to be awesome.

People I'd like to slap (in order): 1. Dick 2. Amber 3. Eric 4. Everyone else except maybe Dustin and Jessica, but probably them too.

Off to read the recaps of Dick's la-*test*-('") meltdown...

blixie- 08-09-2007
As a huge Jess/Eric fan that episode could not have gone any better! I fear she'll put up both Dick and Dani, but I'm hoping she actually targets Zach, for the same reason I wanted Kail out, he's useless and not particularly entertaining.

I feel no compunction to defend my liking Eric, I just do. I liked Alison, and that girl could lay down some vile VILE stuff. I liked Dr Will and his early days of S2 were *disgusting* as were the later days of Nicole/Hardy, and I loved them all. Yet I still and forever hate Mike Booger. When I'm talking BB "like" is always a relative term having no relationship to thinking the Hamsters are the good guys/people, and has more to do with thinking they have good game or entertaining psychosis.

Does anyone have any dish on the behind-the-scenes stuff -- like, did Amber make up with Eric, or was she still expecting Dustin to honor his promise and vote Eric out on her behalf? It did seem like he was trying to claim he DID -- perhaps looking to deflect more suspicion onto Jen -- but I'm just curious.

Here's hoping that enough of America hates Amber now that they ask Eric to get her on the chopping block. Otherwise, it's going to be a Dick/Daniele nomination, and I'm tired of the same people being on the block.

Dick is vexing. I wish he would stop treating any spare second as an excuse to scream at someone, but he makes interesting points at the same time. I did wonder why Jameka wasn't playing for Kail the way she played for Jen -- I assumed that the God loophole was that Kail didn't draw her ball directly, but rather chose her as a Houseguest's Choice -- but as the credits rolled it sounded like her main defense to Dick (who was accusing her of hypocrisy) was not that, but instead, "Hey, it's my decision." Which... I thought it was God's decision, Jameka.

The Dick/Jameka showdown (NSFW video) after Thursday's live show. Highlights include Jameka calling Dick's mother a bitch, Dick calling Jameka a "fucking cunt" and requesting that she lick his balls, Jameka offering to castrate them instead and Amber looking and acting like a stoned biker chick. Have I mentioned that I hate them all?

MaddyCat- 08-10-2007
All three of them are idiots. Dick is pathological in his hatred of women and Jameka as a Christian warrior is almost laughable. The way she rationalizes her behavior is laughable. Amber...needs help.

I have to shower after that vile display. Ugh.

The night before the vote, Dustin convinced her to keep Eric. Some people are convinced there was a Diary Room conspiracy to keep him, but I honestly think Dustin never intended to vote Eric out. He was just humoring the crazy lady.

Dick has spent the morning being an even bigger ass than I thought possible. >>Presumably, to fall on the sword for Daniele and ensure he's voted out first. If I were them, I'd keep him and vote her out. He's pretty much lost the game as it is, but she could go far. Jessica and Amber, of all people, have figured this out. <<

I'm totally on the DR interference train with that Eric vote flip. It happened Thursday morning at like 2 am, and thus far, Jameka, Amber, and Jen have all said that the DR told them to keep Eric. If you watched it happen, it was like clock work seeing first Jameka, then Amber, then Dustin all saying they should keep Eric, right after they got out of the diary room. But I do have serious, serious hate for him, so I'm not going to claim to be objective. The best part of the whole week was seeing Jessica's utter lack of caring about whether he stayed or not, up to saying that he creeped her out and she would be glad to see him leave. Quite a showmance.

I'm not actually rooting FOR anyone at this point. I'm solely in it to see the people I hate get evicted. Dustin, Eric, Amber, and Jameka first hopefully.

Jesus H. Garcia- 08-13-2007
If the producers persuaded them to keep Eric in, wouldn't that be illegal?

blixie- 08-13-2007
No it wouldn't be because the show is Big Brother in which the entire point is for the producers to manipulate the game via such sessions, as they always have every year it's ever been on.

I personally don't think it would require all that much convincing or out right "keep Eric" directive, Dustin clearly did not want to vote Eric out ever at any point and I'm sure all they had to say to him was, so your alliance is voting out one of it's members? And you're okay with it? And apparently there were similar efforts on the DR's part to keep Nick in play too, and certainly with Janelle last year.

I'm not sure I believe that -- from the people I know that worked on it, they seemed to take really seriously the mandate not to influence opinion through interviews to change the game. I used to work in reality TV, and people were always so convinced stuff was producer-manipulated and faked and in our cases it never was (for one thing, people always gave the shows way too much credit for being organized enough to do that -- when in fact most shoots are such frenzied clusterfucks that no one would have time to rig anything even if they wanted to). However, Big Brother IS kind of unique in the sense that they have to cut the shows on the fly in order to address network notes and get them ready to air in such a short time, so they DO have to call people to the Diary Room to get specific information from them, and maybe that can come off steering things in one direction or another. Still, I dunno, I think on what is essentially a game show, you have to be INCREDIBLY careful not to do that or else people can sue after the outcome.

There is seriously almost no one to root for now except for Jen. I cannot stand Amber -- and laughed out loud now that she is trying to act just like Jameka, and is praying out loud for the cameras -- and I think Jameka is incredibly superior. Basically, Dick being argumentative and pushing everyone's buttons has made everyone else a self-righteous prat. They're all as bad as each other.

Jesus H. Garcia- 08-14-2007
There was some talk in the recaps about Dick messing with the food supply. Since he spits and belches everywhere, I don't think I want to know what he's done.

Chart of BB8 Bias. Heh. As someone mentioned somewhere, it is curious that after bigotry became an international story in the last season of BB UK, BB US would stuff a house to the brim with bigots.

Which people? The viewers? The con-*test*-('")ants?

I just think there is a reasonable expectation when watching a show entitled Big Brother that the game is being manipulated to some degree. I don't know how much I buy the concern to avoid it (this is the same production that allowed a guy to hold a knife to a girls throat and didn't feel compelled legally/morally to kick his ass out the door on the spot), but basically I think manipulation in reality shows happens slightly more than productions admit to, and quite a bit less than viewers assume.

Which is why I'm still unconvinced that any explicit DR manipulation was needed to flip the Eric vote, Dick and Danielle needed that banner more than Dustin needed the DR. I will say that as much as I still like him, I'm totally enjoying America fucking up Eric's game, it's hilarious and really what part of that assignment/designation America's Tool did he not get?

Jesus H. Garcia- 08-14-2007
Absolutely, the con-*test*-('")ants can sue. See Stacey Stillman, Survivor. I think she dropped her lawsuit in the end. CBS countersued and lost.

As for "Big Brother", I always took that to be more about the cameras and twists and the booming voice from the speaker. The con-*test*-('")ants and viewers know this and the con-*test*-('")ants sign lengthy contracts agreeing to it. But that's different than the producers telling con-*test*-('")ants to change their votes. That would be illegal. I doubt that happened in this case, though.
