You scared me for a second! I was like "When did Angelina diss my favorite movies?" And that writer can speak for herself. I flove LOTR and other geeky things. Geeky isn't necessarily in the realm of men only.

And a newborn is pretty much a crying, pooping, sleeping blob. Or as one of my coworkers noted, "It's not until they're six months old that they get interesting."

ETA -- that NYT writer also dissed Fight Club, so I'm not putting much faith in her (sadly I can't link to the article -- it's a NYT Select one).

OT: It makes me really angry when people project their own dislikes onto entire demographics ("I am a woman and dislike [blah], therefore all women dislike [blah]"). I'm pretty sure that if All Women Everywhere hated those movies, they wouldn't have been able to make a billion frillion dollars. Given the Jolie article, though, she seems quite good at projecting.

Ah, I hadn't even noticed that Caryn James had written the article. That explains a lot. I never forgave her for the LotR "article" - not for calling the film "soulless," because she has a right not to like it, but assuming that all women everywhere shared her opinion. She tries too hard to be clever and she fails. I'm not attached to Angie but that article on her was tripe. James, you're on notice.

They live in Malibu, right? It's not halfway across the world from Santa Monica so that seems pretty strange to me. Had they gone swimming or something? I would sorta understand shelling out the money if they'd done some rigorous activity from which they needed to freshen up and maybe they were headed somewhere and weren't going home first. Still, that's just a bizarre amount of money for a shower.

She's not the first to do it and she won't be the last. There are celebs who live in hotels in L.A. and they have a home (sometimes two) ten minutes away.

Maybe Maddox had an accident or something? Or maybe they were doing some kind of activity?

I think they must have been doing something that got them sweaty or dirty because she doesn't seem the kind to just throw away good money on something as minor as a shower.

Man, between this and the shocking details of her GG dress alterations, they are just struggling to find ways to make her look like a materialistic bitch.

There was an article in Us Weekly about how she supposedly stays at a hotel sometimes "to get away from the kids". I believe the article was titled "Angelina Backlash" or something like that and I do believe there is a backlash against her right now.

I think that's probably a good guess, or perhaps he spilled something on himself or both of them and they couldn't go home as easily to clean it off.

Star also ran a story about Angelina being in Vietnam the same day. I didn't know she had some superhuman power to be at two difference places at the same time.

Uh, because she is superhuman! Duh!

Imagine, a mom sometimes needs a break from her kids! Quel horreur!
