That article made it sound like he was un-invited, but she's still going? THAT is so not fair.

And if musicians stopped smoking pot, we'd have no blind items whatsoever.* And probably no music.

*Oh, except the gay ones.

Seriously. Like Paula herself doesn't smoke pot. And I bet Simon has put sugar in somebody's gas tank before.

I did like Ashlyn's voice, but I don't think I like her as a person. I bet there's something more to that story about the "big girl" smashing her head into a locker just because she could sing. Like, maybe it was because she could sing and also was a bitch.

MichiSichi- 02-12-2007
Oh dear I really liked the cousin who couldn't sing - and it's hard to forget them - could they not cut him during Hollywood?

PrettyPenny- 02-13-2007
I'm really cheering for Jimmy right now. He's the only person on American Idol that I've known in real life. (Except for the few people I've known who went to the auditions and ended up in the montages of terrible delusional singers.) Unfortunately, I have class during AI.

Anyone else heading into SnarkChat?

I like the Hollywood episodes because you can see who is really good and who will crash and burn and cry like an infant.

Jesus H. Garcia- 02-13-2007
Is it just me or are they spending a lot less time with the Hollywood round this year?

TiffanyNichelle- 02-13-2007
Usually the Hollywood show is two hours so yeah they cut it down a lot.

MtOlivePickles- 02-13-2007
Aww! I'm gonna miss Sean, aka Fidel Bin Jesus! But on the other hand, Chris Osbourne's group's sing was awesome. He's growing on me.

I'm glad that Amanda, the Paris of the Jersey girls, got cut. She was super-bitchy to the other girl.

On the other hand: I hate how they cut the show down. Usually the Hollywood shows are two hours long. It felt weird to not see anyone, and to miss out on the epic fights that happened. And for crying out loud, how freaking hard is it to memorize Motown songs? After five previous seasons, do these people freaking fail to realize that's all they're going to be singing during Hollywood Week? [/ranty]

If you like Chris Sligh (and I do, enough to consider voting for someone for the first time), his band HalfPast Forever has had their video "leaked" onto YouTube.

It's actually pretty good.

He has a Myspace for his band, tho. He may become the Daughtry of this season.

I was pissed that Baylie Brown and Navy Man Jared both got kicked off. I don't understand why. Both gave good performances. And I ESPECIALLY can't understand why they got rid of Jared in favor of that screechy teenage boy that gave a subpar performance and annoyed me with his endless whining about how his mom didn't believe in him.

MichiSichi- 02-14-2007
haven't seen the episode yet - but no Castro but Chris is still my fave.

I cannot believe Bailey Brown is not going through - I expected her to be one of the chosen.

Thomasina- 02-14-2007
Did anyone see what happened to the tall cowboy guy who was in the group with Idaho kid last season? The phone rang and I didn't see if he made it.

Also I didn't see Melinda, Jenry, or Brandon (I think that was his name - he's the guy who sang back-up for Anastasia.) I liked all three of them a lot. And if Jenry didn't make it, I will be sad because he was adorable.

SarahJanet- 02-14-2007
The cowboy made it through. I like him too.

Anyone know if Lakisha made it? She was one of my favourites.

Overall, I was really disappointed. I like Hollywood Week! Hollywood hour was not enough.

Didn't Bailey Brown forget all of her words and hardly sing, like, at all? She seemed alright, but she effed up big time. I'd've sent her ass home, too.

I hate that they're not showing more of the actual singing. Good thing we got to see those 18 weeks of shitty auditions, though!

Oh, and "Sundance" Head suuuucks.

She really choked and blew it. Simon loved her; if she had just remembered the words to a 2 minute song she would have made it.

Seriously, I stuck it out through all that crap knowing I would get to see some real singing during Hollywood, then they shortened it. Yeah, that's just great.

And Sundance got through based totally on the merits of his first audition. Simon and Randy were right to tell Paula that was weak. He was horrible. Horrible.

Jesus H. Garcia- 02-14-2007
I am so glad the "Deddy shot my stepmama" girl got cut, because I didn't need to see any more of that.

My favorites right now are Chris Sligh and the boy whose sister got cut last night and whose name I can't spell (even though they only showed about 2 seconds of him singing.) And did they show what happened to the shy backup singer?

There are a lot of people around that I don't recall ever having seen. They're doing a really bad job putting the shows together this year.
