Joan Collins would be an awesome guest judge! "You annoy me, get out."

I'm one of the few who likes the guest judges, but only later in the season. There's no point to having them this early on in the audition process.

And please God, no Mariah Carey as guest judge. I can imagine her having the set flipped around so her "bad side" isn't showing and bringing in a throne to sit on at the foot of the stage and having her own lighting director, then cooing over each and every con-*test*-('")ant.

I like the older guest judges, I think the people who've had several decades of experience in the biz are better than the young'uns who want to be like Paula and not be seen as "mean."

The 30th is Birmingham, and traditionally we tend to have pretty good singers. It's probably the only audition show I'll be able to watch all the way through, just because it's the home team, so to speak.

We totally should have gone to the BJCC just to snark on them.

I love Mariah to death but she would make a horrible guest judge. She's way too concerned with being nice and not coming off as a bitch; there's no way she'd be honest with those kids. And the sad thing is, she could probably give them great advice if the camera wasn't on her and it wasn't being broadcast to eleventy billion people. Say what you want about her voice lately, but she's got a great ear.

...And I'm glad I'm not the only one that had to rapidly backstep the perv factor upon finding out that kid was only 16. DAYUM.

Oh man, as soon as they said Jenry was sixteen, I was all, "Just... why, God, why?!" I feel dirtier thinking he's hot than I did thinking that Will Makar from last season was hot.

That desperate girl was so melodramatic that it was painful to watch her. I just cringed the entire time and tried to tune her out because she was so pathetic and whiny. I don't blame her for being desperate, but she had no shame.

That girl who had no charisma and looked completely blank cracked me up. There's Ryan's voiceover about charisma and star power, and then she comes up sounding like a robot. That was hilarious!

epudom- 01-26-2007
Sweet Lord, that 16 year old is attractive! They certainly din't look like that when I was a teenager.

NovemberRain- 01-26-2007
Nope. No, they didn't.

whatthedeuce- 01-26-2007
Dude, I think that guy looks older than I do, and I've got six years on him! He's pretty hot, and he really does look like Tyson Beckford. He's got the same eyes and lips.

MichiSichi- 01-27-2007
So yeah I watch the show 2 days behind you guys but..

Heh also thought it was Joan Collins at first.

Ian Bernardo is on! He fuckin' cracked me up on So You Think You Can Dance, and now he's finally resurfaced!

"Do you even have a Permit to be here" ahahhahah

Melodrama girl should go into acting...and Sarah Goldberg should go to one of Ian's therapists.

I liked Opera girl but she also seemed very very odd
ETA this very intersting and I always did wonder how the judges manage to see 10,000 people a day.

whatthedeuce- 01-28-2007
Seriously, what inda hack therapists are seeing Ian? That dude has anger issues, on the real! He loses his top everytime he gets criticized by people who are merely doing their job and telling him like it is.

I always assumed something like this must go on. It explains a bit of why some of these people are so astounded that they are told they can't sing - the people who get through to the next round will be the people who 'fit' in one way or another - either they're genuinely what they're looking for, or they provide amusement value because they're just so bad.

So by the time these people walk into the room with the Panel'o'Doom, they've already had their egos boosted once. Those people filtering out the con-*test*-('")ants won't be saying 'You're going through because you're brilliant, but you, you're going through because we want to laugh at you'.

That said, whoever told that strange slurry girl with the dead eyes that she could sing - or, indeed, speak - and encouraged her to even turn up should be shot.

TiffanyNichelle- 01-29-2007
I've known about the whole pre-judges thing since about the second season. And it really pisses me off that those judges let through the people who really shouldn't be let through. Not the crazies who think they can sing or know they can't but want the screen time anyway but the people like that poor guy who's been making the tv rounds. Not the lemur looking fool but the guy who has an actual problem.

I felt bad for that girl because she had no place being there before the Big, Bad Panel, but her dead-eyed stare cracked me up! She's the girl I thought was pretty much a robot.

MichiSichi- 01-31-2007
Courtney Love as a Judge

TiffanyNichelle- 01-31-2007
That would rock so much. She'd be a bigger trainwreck than Paula!

So my favorite last night was the kid who looked like Jack Osbourne but said when he looked in the mirror he saw X-Tina. He cracked me up!

And the blonde chick with the over the top sob story (my dad shot my stepmama and then himself) annoyed me. And no way is she only 17.
