Yeah, I agree. I'm pretty surprised. And kudos to him for singing in Spanish!

My favorite three tonight were Blake (who was amazing), Jordin, and Sanjaya.

I think I got more excited about the two-second shot of Micky Dolenz in the audience than I did about any of the performances.

Although, I do think I kind of love Blake for some reason.

So Sanjaya does good, does this mean he will be voted off this week?

That was the most boring and painful episode ever. Serious shit. For one thing, those songs all sucked ass the first time around and really didn't need to be karaoked to. For another, Sanjaya actually sounded better than some people, IMO. You know that's a sign of the Apocalypse.

Sanjaya sounded quite pleasant. He has a soft voice, but it's sweet and soothing. And he seemed to put some emotion into it.

I don't get the Chris love. His voice was off-key and so nasally. I hate all those unnecessary runs. I thought he butchered that song.

Poor Haley. I like her legs. The judges really ripped into her. What's wrong with using your appearance? Gwen Stefani wore even shorter hot pants and shook her vajayay all over the Idol stage. Paula is practically drooling over Chris. It smacks of a double standard.

I just kept the show on mute most of the time because the "singing" was killing me. Lakisha bores me more and more as the weeks go by. I never liked her much in the first place though.

LaKisha is becoming painful to watch. She's trying to make everything big and flashy and it's just not working anymore.

I think Haley's hot. So what if she's using that to her advantage? It's not like every other female pop artist doesn't.

Chris and Phil ruined Santana. Chris tried to make rock and roll R&B while Phil just sucks. Having Carlos Santana come out and play would've made both of their performances 10,000 times more bearable.

Blake does inexplicable things to me. I love him.

Nothing to add. I had to work and so couldn't watch, and anyway I'm pretty well bored by the whole thing this season; I flipped through the huge Where Are They Now booklet that People magazine recently published, and was reminded of how interested I was in S5 and how this season pales in comparison.

I would have liked to hear/see JLo, though. Oh well.

I want to like Blake, but I just get this vibe like he's extremely fake, or something. Maybe it's the dead eyes and lack of expression while singing. Like LaKisha. There's just nothing there! It bothers me. I like his voice, otherwise.

Boy, what was up with Phil's voice? Not good, and I actually like the guy.

Finally, another Phil fan! I thought I was all alone in this cruel, snark-filled world.

Sanjaya really did surprise me and do fairly well. The two dudes who sang Santana can go jump off a cliff, for all I care, because they butchered it. I really enjoyed Jordin's performance as well.

What's with Sanjaya's creepy pedophile facial hair, though?

I figured it was meant to give him the "Latin lover" vibe to go along with the song. It was absolutely laughable, but nice try anyway, Sanjaya.

What can I say? Last night was as bad as I thought it would be when I heard J-Lo would be there. Yech.

The only performances I enjoyed were Melinda's and Jordin's. However, as I said before, I think Mindy peaked too early, and there's no real room for her to grow.

The guys all suck, especially Blake. I just don't understand what it is about him people like so much. Someone mentioned he looked like Gilligan in that outfit last night, and I have to agree.

Haha!! That was me too! I had to call my sister and tell her, but even the thought of another two seconds of Micky wasn't enough to get her to watch it.
