If I were him, I'd seriously come out and just stand there and not sing anything the entire time. That seems like a quick way out of there. And if that doesn't work, well, the apocalypse will be nigh and none of it will matter.

Josh Groban is supposed to be on AI on...April 25 or something. I'm really excited, and wonder what the theme that week will be that lends to his being there.

I think that's the week that they're doing the Idol Gives Back fundraising thing and the theme for Tuesday night is inspirational songs. On Wednesday, a bunch of musicians like Bono, Pink, Annie Lennox, Josh Groban, etc. will be performing on the two hour results show.

Poor Sanjaya now they are picking on his sister Hooters girl

Pink and Josh Groban performing makes me really, really happy.

Also, spoiler-ish about tonight's performance ep: >>Sanjaya Malakar - He wanted to sing “Bathwater”. She tried to get him to sing some 80’s song. He said he was a big fan and he really wanted to do one of her songs. Gwen was upfront with him and told him she didn’t think he could pull it off but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Today after seeing how rehearsals were going, she didnt’ see any progress. She went to Nigel immediately and told him she does not want Sanjaya singing one of her songs whatsoever. Sanjaya didn’t have many options at that point. He kind of got stuck with “Sunday Morning”. This caused a big scene at the studio and was the talk all afternoon.<< From this post in ohnotheydidnt.

I totally think that's hysterical.

I hope that spoiler is true, because it's awesome.

But, see, he might get a bunch of people voting for him out of gratitude if he did that.

Wow, thanks to those spoilers, I think I might be watching again this week. Some stellar song choices in there, so I hope they pull them off somewhat decently.

Wow, Gwen Stefani looked so different tonight! I almost didn't recognize her. She looks so much nicer in this more natural makeup.

My favorites were Gina, Phil, Jordin, and Chris R. There was something off with how Blake was singing. I couldn't tell if it was his tone or his key, but it was just kind of weird to me.

Ji Xiang- 03-27-2007
My favorites were probably Gina, Phil and Jordin. Still can't stand Blake or Chris R.

Those spoilers were half and half, weren't they?

I agree, Gwen Stefani looked so...pretty and normal! In other style news, I'm still reeling over Sanjaya's hair. It seems like he's desperately trying to get kicked off or *something*

PrincessCleo- 03-27-2007
What the fuck was that? WHAT. Someone has got to stop Vote for the Worst, because it's not funny anymore. Not when a scrawny teenager wearing a foot-tall hair topiary is allowed to get up there and sing about wanting to wash in your old bathwater. NO.

NovemberRain- 03-27-2007
I really think Sanjaya was trying to sabotage himself tonight. He could not have been serious.

My favorite was Gina. I really think she's underrated but I don't see her winning the competition.

IIRC I've heard quite a few people who have interviewed her in her more natural state say she is amazingly beautiful under all that gunk she wears. Funny a celebrity actually being more attractive under their get-up.

Annie- 03-27-2007
Gwen Stefani is lovely and awesome but she needed to make it a little less obvious that she really didn't want to be there. She had good comments to make in her interviews but she barely interacted with the con-*test*-('")ants, at least not to the level Peter Noone and Lulu did last week.

My favorites tonight were Blake, LaKisha, Chris R., and Gina. The worst ones of the night were Chris S. and Haley.

In his own category is Sanjaya. I give up. I GIVE UP. I officially love this kid. I wish he'd gone just as balls-out on the vocals as he did the hair but, whatever. I love him for knowing that he's this season's laughingstock and taking an active role in deciding exactly what kind of laughingstock that he's going to be. Unlike John Stevens or Kevin Covais, he's a part of the joke rather than the butt of it and I love him for it. Mad props for Sanjaya, and I want him to outlast the performers who may be better, but bore me. I don't support VFTW but I threw Sanjaya a few votes simply because he entertains me and that's really what I want from this show. I also look forward to the bigger and bigger WTF faces the judges will have each week he sticks around.
