They just had a brief interview with Crying Girl on E! News. Her name is Ashley, she's 13 and she says she was just really excited to see Sanjaya. She even had a t-shirt with his picture on it. Nothing was mentioned about Make-A-Wish or anything, so I don't know about that. She was very Jan Brady -- a normal (freaky) adolescent girl. Unfortunately, now she's going to be known as Crying Girl.

"I love his [Sanjaya] voice and his hair," the middle school student sporting a t-shirt with a picture of Sanjaya told INSIDE EDITION.

Ferl's mother Stacey told INSIDE EDITION her daughter has not stopped crying since the show taping.

I tell ya... it's all about the hair. Speaking of which, STAR Magazine devotes two pages to Sanjaya's hair. They're calling it the "Sanjaya Shag".

I love this Sanjaya hate that people apparently have. I mean, seriously, a hunger strike? I'm one of those really horrible people that voted for Sanjaya BECAUSE he's terrible. I also want to see if that girl is actually going to starve herself for a reality TV show.

Guys, I'm horrible, I know.

My favorite part of last night's episode was at the end when they let Crying Girl onstage to hug everyone, they panned the audience and there was another prepubescent girl who looked pissed off that she didn't think of this first.

And several pages back in this thread, someone commented that Chris Sligh seemed like the type of person who tries to win internet arguments. I was really reminded of that watching his bit, because he acted like he had totally googled Peter Noone so he could drop little-known facts. Very annoying.

Bye Steph. It's sad that you miss your spot in the AI tour, so now Sanjaya can torture live audiences across the country. Awesome.

Ha! You saw her, too! She looked so annoyed, like "WTF!?!"

Sanjaya is so much worse than the other young un's who were on the show but it must suck to be him now.

Steph is gone?

I agree about Blake and the beatboxing, yeah we know Randy thinks you own your own style whatever show us something else. And I agree I love Sligh at the beggining but now - not so much.

A hunger strike? Seriously?

How are they going to survive the endless fast food ads during the show? It was hard enough dealing with them when I gave up meat, never mind giving up food.

As much as I'm rooting for Melinda in this, I would love to see what this person does if Sanjaya wins the thing.

I mean, really...a hunger strike?. This is offensive on so many levels. Hunger strikes are used as a last resort of the dispossessed in order to draw attention to their plight: Ethnic minorities crying out to be heard. Oppressed natives peacefully and dramatically taking a stand against the foreign invaders. Prisoners taking a stand for better housing conditions, for food without maggots, for an occasional look at the outside world. Not to pro-*test*-('") the inexplicable popularity of a second-rate singer on a highly rated talent show.

Of course, knowing America, if word gets out about this then we'll see even more votes for the boy. If nothing else, we are a sick and morbid nation, always ready to stand beneath the ledge and scream "Jump! What are you waiting for?" to the desperate soul perched above us.

I don't even wanna bother clicking on that link. I doubt if that person is serious about the hunger strike because that's just plain ridiculous! It's just a way of getting attention, which is actually quite sad. I hate to think that anyone is that starved for attention.

I think I would kind of love it if Sanjaya ended up winning, if there's crying girls every week. He's just so wonderfully cheesy.

I don't know who made this avatar, but I love them.

Hee. Punny.

I think the show would be more effective if you voted for who you wanted out instead of who you wanted to stay. I don't vote at all, but if the voting were this way, I'd psycho-call Sanjaya's number.

I have to disagree with that. I am not a Sanjaya fan by any means but, setting aside this week's performance, he's got a lovely tone to his voice and he rarely hits bad notes. His biggest problem has been his meekness and inability to throw caution to the wind and really sell the songs he's been singing. I think that after giving it 100% with "You Really Got Me" (which I have to admit I found terribly entertaining and, IMO, it earned him his spot on the tour) he may have more performing confidence and his vocals will be stronger as a result. He's not bad, IMO, he's just inexperienced, immature (in the sense that his youth prevents him from connecting emotionally to a lot of songs, a problem the also 17 y.o. Jordin doesn't have), and timid.

And, well, compared to past youthful trainwrecks like John Stevens (could never get away from the Sinatra obsession and was truly cringeworthy at times - "Crocodile Rock," anyone?), Camile Velasco (made Sanjaya look like an extrovert), Carmen Rasmussen (goat girl extraordinaire), and Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais, Sanjaya is miles ahead in terms of genuine, raw talent, even though I think this year was way, WAY too soon for him to be in the AI top 12.

God, I can't believe I wrote two paragraphs defending Sanjaya. *facepalm*

And I can't believe that I agree with you! Seriously, he's not a *bad* singer. Granted, he's not a great singer either. But when I think of John Peter Lewis (was that his name?) I want to run and hide. I'd rather hear (and watch) Sanjaya any day over JPL.
