Well, so much for DialIdol's accuracy. Although I find it hilarious that they tried to cover themselves last night by saying that 9/12 singers could ALL potentially be in the bottom three. To use a Mean Girl's reference, that's like saying there's a "thirty percent chance that it's already raining" during a storm. Even funnier, one out of the three they predicted to be safe wasn't. So they predicted it was already raining when there were actually big, fat, obvious hailstones falling on their heads...

And I'm going to abandon this analogy now and go and cower in shame.

According to someone allegedly on the inside - see this at TWOP for more info - , the real order of the results was

1. Melinda Doolittle
2. Blake Lewis
3. Jordin Sparks
4. Lakisha Jones
5. Chris Richardson
6. Sanjaya Malakar
7. Gina Glocksen
8. Chris Sligh
9. Phil Stacy
10. Haley Scarnato
11. Stephanie Edwards
12. Brandon Rogers

If that is true (and seeing as Sanjaya was always safe in the earlier weeks), the producers are being utter dicks to the kid. Granted he's not cutting it, but if they just make people feel sorry for him, he could just end up sticking around longer.

So it's some conspiracy to get Sanjaya voted off, I mean if he is so popular they would want him on the tour/show - more fans , more money? And apparently this Ricky is a good source - which is kind of sad that they rig the results.

Did anybody else catch Simon being interviewed by Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes? It was pretty fun.

Jordin and Melinda were the standouts for me tonight. Sanjaya...well, for him I had to mute the tv for my own sanity. The crying girl confused me, because she looked more horrified than fangirly to me, but I haven't been 11 in a while, so I may be way off.

MichiSichi- 03-21-2007
I wonder how much the other con-*test*-('")ants hate Melinda, at least Carrie got some critism even as Simon's chosen one.

Wildog27- 03-21-2007
Chris Sligh... This is God. Step away from the Fro Patro. Seriously, I don't hate much down there on Earth, but that? Yeah, it'll be in Hell.

TiffanyNichelle- 03-21-2007
I am an evil evil evil person because I laughed my ass off during Sanjaya's "performance" and I don't know what made me laugh harder. Sanjaya or the little girl crying her ass like she was David Hasselhoff.

Thomasina- 03-21-2007
Well, I still can't like Jordin. This time it's because I'm too used to the Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey versions of "I Who Have Nothing" -- and they are so much better. She's talented, but her phrasing seemed weird and she didn't seem to have the emotion. As my best friend said, "You can't sing that song if you've never had a broken heart."

Poor Jordin - this week she gets not only my "I don't like her" prism, but also two big hits of "You're no Shirley," and "Tom's version pwns yours."

Melinda was awesome, I keep replaying it over and over. Jordin was good, too. Her voice usually isn't as polished, but she really improved.

The guys were better overall, but Chris S. is starting to get on my nerves.

Gina was the worst for me. Except for Sanjaya, who is always hideous. But I know he's not going anywhere. I was kind of disappointed he didn't do something awful with his hair this time. Although when he first walked on stage and did that wave with the weird sleeve-gloves, I had a creepy MJ flashback.

I think they should have hysterical, sobbing preteen back every week.

Jane- 03-21-2007
The crying girl got more screentime than Seacrest this week, and I almost feel bad about laughing hysterically at a little kid. Almost. I'm feeling a Melinda/Jordin final two, with Lakisha being the big shocker elimination somewhere down the line.
My first thought when I saw Lulu was that she must have finally fired Edina Monsoon as her publicist if she got herself a gig on American Idol. She actually had some decent advice though, as did the Herman's Hermits guy.

prostiturtles- 03-21-2007
The crying girl was a Make A Wish kid with cancer. That's why she was sitting in front with Nigel. I guess she was overwhelmed with emotion to see her Idol Sanjaya in person. It was cute that they brought her on stage at the end and she got hugs from everyone.

whatthedeuce- 03-21-2007
I figured she had to be a Make a Wish kid or something because Ryan was paying special attention to her.

Sanjaya is begging to be kicked off this show as far as I can tell. Please, just let that poor kid leave already, America!

Jordin hasn't impressed me much in the past, but she was my favorite tonight, hands-down. I even liked her performance more than Melinda's, and Melinda's been my top choice since the Top 24 were chosen. Phil also continues to impress me, and he just seems like such a nice guy. I really don't see anything special about Lakisha. She's okay, but I vastly prefer Melinda to her.

ON Monday night's airing of "The Late Show With David Letterman," "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul revealed an unfortunate nickname for her colleague, Simon Cowell. When Letterman asked Abdul, "You honestly hate Simon, don't you? He's smug and he's arrogant. And he thinks you want to have sexual activities with him," Abdul responded, "You are right about that. But that will never happen - because his nickname is 'Small Ben.' " We look forward to hearing what Cowell's nickname is for the former pop princess.

I figured Ryan was doing that to make up for the inevitable 'getting mocked mercilessly for sobbing uncontrollably on national TV' thing, but this definitely makes more sense. Regardless, Sobbing Pigtailed Girl is totally my American Idol.

Jordin was a lot better than I expected last night, I was really impressed. I already love her for being a dead-ringer for my best friend, but her vocals were greatly improved, I thought.

Blake's performance got me a little flustered. I like how he eye-fucks the audience, and not the camera, but it still gets across to the audience at home. Now that's a performer!

teebax- 03-21-2007
I know I'm in the minority because I can't stand Blake. He hasn't had a performance yet that has impressed me, and I've not forgiven him for Virtual Insanity.

Melinda is my fave, but I think she's going to get some backlash. She may genuinely be that nice, but it seems a bit fake to me. Regardless, I've never heard the girl miss a note. She's just spot-on. Love her.

I didn't enjoy Kiki this week, but that may have more to do with song choice. I think she sang the song well, but I've never liked "Diamonds are Forever".

I hate to say it, but I think Stephanie may be leaving tonight. We're seemingly stuck with Sanjaya...
