I watched until the last thirty minutes and then I had to tune out. The guys just sucked way too much and none of them really stand out at the moment. Though I did like the guy that sang the Keane song.

I should have known VFW would latch onto Sundance. Which means he'll be there until the top 8 or 6.

I don't know if VFTW makes me want to laugh, cry, or go all rage-y. I knew once I saw that they picked Sundance that he'd make the top 12, at least. What makes it even worse is that >>the DialIdol.com results (which were very accurate last season, so I trust them) show him in first place. First! And I blame that almost entirely on the VFTW voters. However, AI pushed Sundance through to the voting rounds so if he becomes the next Taylor Hicks, they'll get exactly the Idol they deserve.<<

That was such an assault on the ears last night, geez. They all (except for Chris Sligh and Blake, who both seemed very confident) seemed so damn nervous. It was excruciating.
Please, who do I have to pay to get Sundance off my TV? He should not even be here in the first place as he had not one single outstanding moment in Hollywood. I feel very bad for the dude whose spot he took.
Oddly, I found myself really liking Nick Pedro last night. I can't even explain it.

Chris Daughtry might want to rethink the
press he's getting.
Getting pissy at a charity performance for kids in the hospital because they dared to introduce you as someone from
American Idol only makes you look like a jackass.
Jesus H. Garcia- 02-21-2007
Yeah, nice 'tude. Reminds me of when Clay Aiken shafted that high school choir a few years ago.
I guess "Daughtry" would prefer to go back to that mechanic's job he was apparently too good for than deal with the pitfalls of celebrity? I love how his fans are soccer moms when he's striving so hard to be a true rocker, whatever that is.

VoteForTheWorst is encouraging voting for Sundance this week. They call him the ManBearPig, which seems oddly accurate.
I've been meaning to ask - did they ever show what happened with Ebony the rollerskating waitress in the Hollywood episode? If they did I totally missed it, and I thought it was odd considering how Simon was going on about how fantastic she was. |
Ebony was booted after appearing in the lingerie bowl, from what I've heard.

What was the Clay Aiken high school choir thing?
Yeah, I was a bit disgusted with Chris after reading that article.
jstilwe- 02-21-2007
Man, Gina got on my nerves. When will these kids learn that talking back to Simon is not cute?
I loved LaKisha. She killed it. That song is amazing, so it's almost an unfair advantage, but she really did knock it out of the park. Sabrina and Melinda were also pretty awesome.
Several of those girls were painfully bad. Antonella needs to go home, and I wouldn't be sad to lose Nicole or Alaina, either.

Was I the only one who didn't like LaKisha? I thought it was a bad choice considering that this week Jennifer Hudson is basically going to win an Oscar for her performance of that same song. LaKisha was setting herself up for a comparison and she failed, IMO. The J.Hud version is still fresh in my mind and on my audio player. The entire seven minute song in crystal clear sound, with full orchestra and with the movie still in my head vs. a truncated, two minute karaoke style version by a chick in a bad dress?

I really liked the 17-year old, whose name I forget. She looks like she had a ton of fun, she's got a great voice...and it doesn't hurt that she has a smile similar to that of my girlcrush, America Ferrera. Hee.
Is Melinda the shy backup singer? She was wonderful, and her outfit was amazing with a capital AMAZING.
I totally suck with these people's actual names until they are narrowed to the final 12. I know, I'm horrible.
TiffanyNichelle- 02-21-2007
I thought Jennifer Hudson did a better job with that song. LaKisha was good but Jennifer Hudson was better.

My fave so far is the back-up singer lady. She's very humble and cute and can belt like a mutha!
Pumpkin Cake- 02-22-2007
I loved LaKisha a lot more than I thought I would based on past performances. I think she sold this one a lot on performance, and that can't be discounted. I'd still like to see her with time to do a song that makes use of her softer voice, too.
My (white, male) friend said, "all the white girls were bad tonight, and all the black girls was awesome. I'm ashamed of my people." And that was more or less true tonight, although the Valley girl seems to be a Latina. I loved the redhead's (something Hunt) voice, but it did seem awkward. And I didn't think I'd like the backup singer as much--I thought she'd fade like her male counterpart.
So tired of people barking back at Simon. Please, please take his advice. He just wants to make lots of money, he is not out personally to attack you. Maybe it would do you some good. I'm so over Gina Glocksen.
