Heeee, they have a Trogdor cake.

I love that they have an Office Space cake.

I kind of want that doll. One of her accessories is a Barbie hairstyling head!

And it is the cu-*test*-('") damn thing! I want one.

They also have what appears to be a WORKING foosball cake. Wow.

I am verily impressed, yet have to wonder what these cakes actually taste like considering (based on seeing bits of the show) that they seem to sit out in their factory for days undergoing construction.

I assume there's some compromise between taste and stability/durability?

In general, they taste like crap. The fondant stuff they use to create the decorations tastes awful, and, as you say, the cake part is ancient by the time the decorating's done.

I read an article in the NY Times a while back about the backlash among wedding couples over beautiful, but bad-tasting, cakes. A couple of bakers were having a fair degree of success by creating beautiful cakes that you could actually, you know, eat, not just look at.

punkysdilemma- 10-11-2007
Yeah -- fondant not so tasty, though I think if you apply it early it at least seals it up so the cake won't dry out as much. My imaginary wedding cake will involve whipped cream in some manner, though at least one layer needs to be spice cake, and that might involve cream cheese frosting. So says I now, knowing full well I may bow to pressure when the imaginary event occurs...

I do think someone who's known for being a good baker owes her guests something tasty at the very least. Heh.

How to make your Mountain Dew GLOW.

So cool!

vwlphb- 10-11-2007
Snopes says it's not true. I just saw that the other day. It would be really cool though.

psammead- 10-11-2007
Snopes takes the fun out of everything.

This is quite interesting - a quick speed-reading -*test*-('"). I read the passage (which I guess some of you are very familiar with but I wasn't) at my usual speed (well under the time allowed) and then couldn't answer any of the questions. So the question is - did I actually read it?

particle_person- 10-11-2007
I have to try that.

ETA: Darn.

I know! I was so excited. :-(

Right-brained or left-brained? This is seriously freaking me out because every time I look at the "dancer", look away then look back, she's turning in the opposite direction. Something is wrong with me.

bookworm- 10-11-2007
I don't understand how the dancer could be moving in any other direction except clockwise. Am I weird?

Me either. I've been staring at it, trying to make it go the other way, but no go.

Jesus H. Garcia- 10-11-2007
Look away for a while, then go back. I saw counterclockwise first, but now every time I look at it, I don't what I'm going to see. I think I broke my brain.
