The Glen- 06-15-2007
That's brilliant.

particle_person- 06-15-2007
Does that kid look a lot like Rupert Grint to you?

The Glen- 06-15-2007
Now that you mention it, he does rather...

bookworm- 06-15-2007
He kind of looks like Henry Ian Cusick from LOST.

Didn't Cusick play Desmond? I'm totally not seeing the Jesus look there.

wishingwell- 06-17-2007
This is frustrating to play - but I can't seem to stop!

If you can go for longer than 18 seconds without hitting a block/wall, you are excellent.

I have no idea if it's true, but the Air Force supposedly uses a -*test*-('") similar to that for fighter pilots. They are expected to last for at least two minutes.

Heh. I'm so proud of myself for getting to 21.203. I was stuck under 12 forever.

I love that orsinal game.

Still one of my favorite time wasters: Miniputt!

bookworm- 06-17-2007
Funniest book ever!

Latawyna, the Naughty Horse, Learns to Say No to Drugs. Oh dear...

The Glen- 06-17-2007
I love how the illustrator valiantly tries to portray horses drinking and taking drugs. And of course the horse who took the overdose.

particle_person- 06-17-2007
HEEEE. I love how the "drugs" and the "drink" are never identified. It's almost as if the author has never seen them before...

Also, love the use of the word "square" in a book copyright 1991.

fourfins- 06-17-2007
That book MADE me want to smoke something just to make it stop.

PrincessCleo- 06-17-2007
I love the author blurb. "She would like to thank God. 'Thank you, God.' "

bookworm- 06-17-2007
The author is a co-inventor of what? This book? Because if that is case, I'm even more scared that more than one person was involved in the writing of it.

Man, I am crying I am laughing so hard.

Poubelle- 06-17-2007
Oh man. I love the fact that it's randomly horses.

And as bad as the book is, can't we give some kind of award to the illustrator? The horse with the bottle in its mouth is just priceless.

ETA: OMG, you guys, you have to see the book's Amazon listing! From the reveiws:
QUOTE
It starkly and accurately presents the real dangers horses in black neighborhoods face from Caucasian equine drug pushers; when one of the horses died of a drug overdose, this reviewer wept openly. This is a lesson all children, foals, calves, chicks and cubs must learn before it is too late.
QUOTE
I would like to thank this book for all it has done for me. "Thank you, book!"
QUOTE
Many readers, on their first reading, fail to catch the deeply nihilistic message inherent in this deviously simple little book. Hint: Latawnya learns to say "no way" to smoking drugs and drinking alcohol, but she always remains a NAUGHTY horse. Don't just take this story at face value. There are depths here to be plumbed, and the reader who makes the effort will be richly rewarded.

But not all the reveiws are positive:

My horse read this book along with Lindsay Lohan during their stay at Promises treatment center in Malibu, CA and DID NOT find it one bit helpful!
