I'm another Inland North, beating Philly by a hair. Woot, Inland North?
Little miffed at the Mary, merry, and marry question, though. "Mary" and "marry" are the same to me, while "merry" is pronounced different, which isn't an option. Thhhppfft.
Superdickery. It's a bunch of hysterical old Superman covers, mostly of him being a dick.
Feeling a bit stressed? And also like a total nerd?

Yeah, that bugged me, too. Duh it's different, it has an e!
This picture on the LJ image feed is supposedly in New York, but I saw the exact same giant-red-ball-ornament pyramid at the Mall of America. Except not in a fountain, because then things would get icy.
Fishy!I'm so addicted, it's sad.

Hee, I'd be from the Inland North.
| QUOTE | You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

It's kind of funny to me that I speak a second language not "straight out of the dictionary".
|
This is also what I got. Which is interesting cause I am Canadian, and whenever an American does a "Canadian" accent, to me it sounds like someone from Minnesota or Wisconsin.
I can never get past the eighth level of
this game [and that only happened once], but, my God, I'll keep trying.

Yeah, that's right near the Radio City Music Hall. Across the street is another fountain, but with a huge toy train on it. They look nifty.
I'd also be from Inland North - I know that ain't right, though. Even though I think certain words should sound different, when I say them, they probably don't. I have this Brooklyn/Puerto-Rican accent thing going on, so no one's going to mistake me for someone from any place that uses the word "pop" without attaching the word "culture" or "music" right behind it.
I seem to have Midland accent. "Good voice for TV and radio." Right. Wonder what I'd have to anwer to get a west coast accent (born and raised).
I have the "Inland Northern" accent, and I live in Minnesota. So, that's logical on the face of it. But I've only lived here for five years, and I've always pronounced words the way I answered on the quiz. I've lived all over the US and in Europe, so maybe "Inland Northern" is how your accent turns out when you're a nomad. Mr. Tabby's sister told me she has a friend from Wisconsin who has the exact same speech patterns I do.

Tabs, If I had to catagorize your accent, I would say it was "American", as I don't think you have one at all.
What I thought was neat is that there are none of the obvious indicators of a Boston accent in the quiz, but I still came out with one. I guess there's more subtlety to it than I thought.

I've read the FAQs on the website but I just have to ask: are those real? I cannot think of one good reason that someone would have actually created them.
Not one reason.ETA: After seeing
this one, I've come to the conclusion that they aren't real. Just ignore the idiot, everyone.

West was my result. Basically, everything sounds the same except pen/pin and feel/fill. And I can't even imagine "bag" rhyming with "vague".

See, I can't imagine them any other way but rhyming. I mean, unless you're British or Australian or something. Or West, I suppose.
I really didn't know that I actually had the Philly accent...although I do occasionally say "wooder" instead of "water".
