30+ years of People Magazine covers.

Well I won't be getting anything done today.....

eta: notice how "real" everyone used to look before Photoshop? Man, no wonder I have an inferiority complex.

OMG, that's why the covers looked so weird. I couldn't figure out why everyone looked so different.

Why does he look like Jason Segel?

laddical- 05-15-2008
It's kinda cool looking at Newman's eyes and knowing they aren't enhanced.

This headline cracked me up:

"Raquel Welch was Hollywood's reigning sex symbol for nearly nine years, but at 33, what does an aging sex symbol do?"

First of all, 33 is hardly "aging" for pete's sake. Secondly, she's like, 70 now and still smokin!

Seven pages in and I've already found the grea-*test*-('") picture/headline combo in the history of magazines. Every time I look at it I giggle.

I've been saying that for ages!

Thanks for wasting the last 30 minutes of my life. In a good way.

Mark your wife 1930s style. Or your husband

OMG some of these are so ridiculous!

Red nail polish is a bad thing? Nu-uh. It's classy with black and white outfits. Also, it's sexy, no?

Haha, I totally do #9 to my boyfriend. I am a poor girlfriend!

Well, that was the problem, then. Why would a good wife need to look sexy like that?

My mother has always maintained that red nailpolish is slutty. I'm kind of stunned to find that her opinion has a historical precedent and isn't just a product of her Catholic upbringing.

My grandmother was raised evangelical, and often tells the tale of the Sunday she dared to wear a red dress to church.

I wish I'd known that woman. She and my mom both sound like they were more fun before I was born.

My grandmother was raised in the grand tradition that red nail polish is wrong, especially for church, women should always wear stockings to church, and never pants.

I laugh now but that was the social norm. I kind wish we would move back a little bit to dressing up for religious services because I see so many people in jeans and tank tops in church now.
